Enabling drivers and passengers to manage their car internet connectivity

Internet in the Car is an IoT connectivity product that allows manufacturers to turn the car’s built-in SIM into a reliable in-car WiFi experience. This is achieved without any need for additional subscription. This case study covers work on transforming the existing product into a multi-version, multi-market experience for both drivers and fleets with minimal user effort required for onboarding.
Internet in the Car offers a relatively straightforward experience for drivers – start the car, connect devices to WiFi, and you’re connected. However, there is a lot of complexity behind the scenes. The product needs to be available across multiple car brands and markets, with a variety of providers and regional differences involved. At the same time, drivers need not care about that complexity – they just want internet in their car.
Work covered versions of the product used by such manufacturers as Audi, Mercedes, Ford, Volvo, and Stellantis. In addition, local providers were supported for particular markets – for example, Vodafone in the UK.
